During Diwali, which is the Festival of Lights, Sane Guruji Road was plunged in darkness. 5 street lights were non-functional on the stretch between Kemps Chowk and Akanksha Bungalow on 90 Feet Road. The road is lit only because of the car lights of the oncoming traffic, whereas the locals are inconvenienced a lot. The concerned department should immediately take action.

The left side of the road opp. the railway station in Mulund (E) is occupied by hawkers and vegetable vendors who have encroached upon the footpath. People have to literally manoeuvre the road by performing exercises and it creates a great problem for senior citizens at night time.

A signboard on J. N. Road in Mulund (W) has toppled over whereas the signboards in many areas are in a damaged condition. The question is: When will the Administration wake up? Further, at Goshala Road there is a signboard which has Bhiwandi, Thane, inscribed on it whereas there is no highway for a long distance from here.

Mahavitaran (MSEDCL) should address the safety concerns of their staff seriously who should be given at least the basic safety equipment. It is the Department’s responsibility that it should provide the staff with ladders and helmets.
