Since the past one-month sewerage water has been entering the compound of Mulund Swapnil CHS at Tata Colony in Mulund (E). The residents fear that the gutter water would mix with the potable water, leading to serious health issues. Children, ladies and senior citizens are fuming at the thought of passing through this dirty water. Complaints have been lodged with the local corporator, Prabhakar Shinde, as well as BMC T-Ward and the Sewerage Dept. at Ghatkopar but to no avail. The administration has been unsuccessful in tackling this problem.

The cover of the drainage chamber at Tata Colony Chowk in Mulund (E) is lying open. This should have been fitted properly, but the authorities covered it with an iron sheet on which a 4-inch concrete block was placed and cement poured over it to make it permanent. This has made the chamber 5 inches higher than the surface. This has resulted in vehicles grazing against the chamber and the cover has now been uprooted and has fallen on the iron sheet. Since the hawkers have illegally occupied the pavements at various places, often school kids, senior citizens and others have to use this road, which may be perilous. That’s why this chamber has to be covered securely as soon as possible.
