Accident and Maratha Morcha Halt Traffic on EEH!

A four-wheeler driver applied brakes to save a motorcyclist in front of him. But, alas, as the four-wheeler vehicle stopped abruptly, the three vehicles that were following him could not control their speed and hence they banged one into each other at Airoli Bridge.

In this horrifying accident, a tempo and three four-wheeler vehicles were badly damaged. Fortunately, though no casualty was reported, the accident brought the traffic to a halt. To rub salt to the wounds, the Maratha Morcha proceeding on the same road added to the woes of the motorists. Angry motorists stood one behind the other pulling their hair out!!!

According to reports, the accident occurred on Monday, November 26, 2018. An eyewitness told Home Times, “The accident happened at Airoli Bridge. The driver in a four-wheeler applied brakes to save a motorcyclist in front of him. But, unfortunately, the braking action proved dangerous as the three other vehicles that were speeding from behind banged one after the other, thus bringing the entire traffic to a standstill.”

Though no casualty was reported, traffic was badly hit. The path towards Thane was blocked for two hours as it took a long time to remove the four vehicles to the side of the road. This caused great inconvenience to motorists. There was huge chaos as motorists were in a hurry to reach their destination. Constant honking and smoke emitting from vehicles made the scene more chaotic.

Though the traffic police had reached the spot and did its best to control the situation, the Maratha Morcha added to the woes of the motorists. Due to the hordes of Maratha on the road, it became difficult to control traffic on the EEH and this made the situation worse.
