Accidents on GMLR continue to unleash terror!

After the killer Eastern Express Highway, accidents on the busy Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) continue to unleash terror. According to reports, in the past many months, the road has become a death trap for motorists. Despite the road witnessing numerous accidents, there is no stopping these accidents.  Last week, three accidents were reported on the road. In 2 cases nobody was killed, but in the third accident an auto-rickshaw driver lost his life.

According to reports, the deceased Raghubar Yadav (60), was travelling to Mulund from Nahur Sonapur in his auto-rickshaw (HM 03 BN 5962). Suddenly, a speeding Tata tempo (MH 04 SP 0030) coming from Subhash Nagar rammed into Yadav’s auto-rickshaw at Goregaon Mulund Link Road.

The accident was so severe that Yadav was seriously injured. But the ruthless tempo driver Raj Rama Swami, instead of helping the old rickshaw driver, fled from the scene, leaving the old rickshaw driver in pain and agony. Unfortunately, due to delay in treatment Yadav lost his life.

The police arrested the driver from Amar Nagar and slapped him with IPC sections 304 (A) – Causing death by negligence; 279 (Rash Driving), 184. Driving dangerously and 134 of The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
