Bhandup Police solves cricketer’s murder case in 48 hours!
Kudos to Bhandup police for solving the mysterious murder of Rakesh Pawar (35), a famous district-level cricketer and coach, within a short span of 48 hours!!
In its investigation, the police have arrested two members of the same family. The arrested are Sohail Khan, his father Asif Khan and Sohail’s friend, Bhushan Bhoir. They were picked up from Bhiwandi and have been booked under IPC section 302 for murder.
According to the police, the accused and the victim’s family were at loggerheads over some personal enmity. The police informed the media that in 2017 the accused had injured Rakesh Pawar’s brother in an accident. Since then, the two families had turned enemies and the murder of Rakesh Pawar was due to that enmity.
Last Thursday night, Rakesh Pawar was killed with sharp weapons, inflicting serious injuries on his head when he was on his way home. The killers were waiting near the Mahavir Petrol Pump and no sooner Pawar arrived there, the killers stopped his vehicle and brutally attacked him. The assault was so lethal that Rakesh died on the spot. Bhandup police reached the spot and began an investigation and within 48 hours nabbed the killers who were hiding in Bhiwandi.
