BMC Inefficiency Exposed  BMC completes drainage work; Flees leaving dug-up road.

BMC employees are infamous for doing half-hearted work and fleeing from the site. It has been observed, every time when they do certain work they just focus on their job and, on completing their job, they leave the place without caring to clean the place or level the road or remove the waste thrown up while doing the work. Home Times exposes how the inefficient work of BMC has become a threat to the residents at Shastri Nagar Road in Mulund Colony.

According to the local residents, the nullah which was made earlier had a slope towards the main road. Hence, filthy water would drain over the road causing a nuisance to pedestrians. Hence after public fury, BMC diverted the drainage line towards another direction. However, while doing the work, BMC had to dig a part of the road close to the nullah. However, after completing the drainage work, the BMC employees left, leaving the dug-up road unattended.

Due to the incomplete work of BMC, the residents are quite angry, because the dug-up road is posing a threat to pedestrians as well as two-wheelers and drivers.  Jayesh Jain, a local resident, told Home Times, “As the road is dug up hence the road is dotted with small pebbles and loose soil particles. As a result, people on the bikes skid and injure themselves.”

He added, “Though BMC has put up a barricade near the dug -up road, still there is the fear of accidents. Besides, the road is thronged by school students. Hence, if a boundary wall is erected near the dug-up road, then it will prevent both, school students and senior citizens from falling prey to accidents.”
