BMC T-Ward Claims 90% Potholes Filled! Mulundkars Differ!!

With monsoon bidding adieu to Mumbai, BMC T-Ward has started filling potholes in Mulund on a war footing.  According to reports, BMC T-Ward has identified 147 potholes in Mulund and from these, the civic body has already filled 130 potholes!! While the BMC T-Ward has claimed to fill 90% of the potholes, Mulundkars have condemned the claim to be bogus!!

Interestingly, while BMC has declared that they have received 147 pothole complaints in Mulund, Mulundkars wonder how Mulund can have just 147 potholes when Mulund is ridden with potholes on every road, street and lane!! Home Times had highlighted a single road in Mhada Colony in Mulund to have more than 100 potholes on a single stretch!! Fortunately, the Home Times report had an impact and the road was renovated and the potholes filled.

Informing Home Times of filling the potholes, a BMC T-Ward official said, “In Mulund, during the past 2 months, we received several pothole complaints on our official website.  It is a matter of pride that our engineers filled the potholes within 4 to 5 days of the registration of these complaints.”

Though BMC T-Ward may be patting its own back at the success of filling the potholes, but Home Times in its reality check found the truth to be bitter. People residing at Mulund’s ACC Road, Tambe Nagar, M.G. Road, etc. informed Home Times that the potholes on their roads are yet not filled and they are as deadly as before. Residents termed the claims of BMC as BOGUS!!

When Home Times spoke to BMC T-Ward and brought to their notice the people’s fury against T-Ward, an official at BMC T-Ward told Home Times, “We have received 147 potholes complaints on our website and as per the complaint we have almost filled 90% of the potholes in Mulund.” He added, “We have filled the potholes with sincerity. We have used cold-mix at places where it was convenient and placed paver blocks where paver blocks seemed suitable. Thus, we have done our job. The remaining potholes will be filled in the coming week.”
