CATTLE SMUGGLER HELD

Recently, Bajrang Dal volunteers nabbed a youth who was smuggling cows for slaughter. He was promptly handed over to the police. In this manner, the cow which was being smuggled was released from the clutches of the culprit and save from a very cruel fate. Mulund police have arrested the youth after registering the complaint.

On January 31, Mulund’s Bajrang Dal’s Head, Vasishthnarayan Chaudhary, got a tip-off that several cows were going to be smuggled for the purpose of slaughtering them. In view of this information, some Bajrang Dal volunteers kept a vigil at 9.35 p.m.at Milind Nagar on Bhandup’s Gaondevi Road.  At about that time, a tempo bearing registration number MH 04 EY 4835 passed by. Since it had downed the rear shutter, nothing could be seen inside. Two motorbike-borne riders were accompanying the tempo on both sides to provide security. Chaudhary and his men immediately followed the tempo. They stopped the vehicle when it approached Pratiksha Junction on Goregaon Link Road and searched it. Lo and behold! They found a cow hidden in the tempo. Chaudhari immediately informed Mulund police who promptly swung into action and arrested the driver, 28-year old Bandra resident Imtiaz Ahmed Abdul Sattar  Fansopkar under the relevant sections of IPC. The bovine was sent to Bhiwandi Goshala. Those involved in this operation included Suraj Kanojia, Rakesh Somaiya, Gautam Ramesh Gupta, Ajay, Arun and Niranjan as also other members of the Dal. It has come to notice that the cow which was being smuggled was pregnant. Mulund police are further investigating the matter.
