CAUGHT RED-HANDED!!!
These days, instances of mobile thefts in local trains are on the rise. But, in a rare instance, a person foiled the attempt of a professional mobile thief who tried to rob his mobile.
The incident occurred on Saturday between Bhandup and Mulund in a local train heading towards Thane. The mobile thief tried to slip his hand into the pocket of a passenger and steal his mobile, but the passenger was alert and caught the thief red-handed! However, when Mulund station arrived, the mobile thief leapt out of the compartment from the moving train and tried to flee. But, the commuters on the platform caught him after a hot chase!!!
The thief was handed to the Government Railway Police. The mobile thief has been identified as Hazarat Sheikh. He is a resident of Kalwa and a professional mobile thief who has many cases of mobile thefts registered against him.
Mulund GRP has handed over the accused to Kurla GRP who are probing the accused’s history.
