Commuters nab thief at Mulund Rly station

Thefts in local trains or at railway platforms is a common occurrence. Despite the presence of RPF and GRPF personnel, history-sheeters and notorious thieves make their move. However, sometimes due to the commuters’ presence of mind helps them to trap these thieves and get them nabbed. Recently, at Mulund railway station, some conscientious commuters on a platform nabbed a thief who was escaping after stealing the purse of a lady commuter.

According to reports, on Friday, September 20, 2019, a lady was waiting for a local train on platform number 3 at Mulund railway station. While she waited for the local, the accused, Ravi Prajapati, within a fraction of a second, snatched the lady’s purse and ran across to platform number 4. Fortunately, the lady made a hue and cry and this attracted the attention of commuters on platform number 4 and they succeeded in nabbing the thief.

Soon, the RPF and GRPF police reached the spot. The lady had to file a case of theft later at Kurla GRP to recover her stolen purse. The purse had her mobile and important documents.
