Conjunctivitis
With the rise in temperatures in summer, we have to deal with heat-related disorders like heat stroke, dehydration, skin problems and also eye infections. The most common eye infection is Conjunctivitis, in which the eyes become red, itchy and watery.
What is Conjunctivitis?
Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, which is the clear tissue that covers the white part of the eye and lines the inner eyelid. The infection can affect either one or both the eyes and it is contagious.
Cause of Conjuctivitis:
Viral infection which results in watery or itchy eyes.
Bacterial infection which results in sticky or greenish-yellow eye discharge.
Allergic conjunctivitis which results in watery, burning, itching eyes often accompanied by a running nose.

Take care of personal hygiene by washing hands regularly and avoid rubbing eyes and sharing handkerchiefs, towels and soaps.
Splash cold water into the eyes 2-3 times during the day.
Sleep for at least 6 hours to help rejuvenate eyes.

Sujok Therapy:
Find the painful points on the inside of upper part of thumb, corresponding to eyes, with diagnostic probe. Stimulate the points with acupressure by rotating the probe clockwise anticlockwise for a minute, 3-4 times daily (pic 1).
Colour Therapy: Application of dark blue or black colour on the stimulated points gives excellent results (pic 2).
