Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a chronic disorder affecting women during their reproductive age. It causes heavy, painful menstrual bleeding followed by intense pain and cramps. There is no cure for this debilitating suffering except surgery and medicines!
What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis occurs when endometrial tissue which is lining inside uterus starts growing outside on fallopian tubes, ovaries or pelvic lining. During menstrual period these endometrial tissue growths outside the uterus also grow and bleed in the same way as the endometrial tissue inside the uterus. This causes acute pain and inflammation because the trapped blood cannot easily get out of the body. It can result in complications such as formation of cysts in ovaries, blockage of fallopian tubes, scar tissue formations making pregnancy difficult and also problems in bladder and intestines.
