He demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000/- from every shop owner to resume construction.”

Another shop owner said, “Initially, the shop owners were terrified as the van in which Ingole landed had the sticker with the state government emblem. Besides, the windows of the SUV were tainted, hence everybody believed him to be a legitimate government officer. However, when one of the shop owners demanded of Ingole to show his ID card, Ingole was in a tight spot and his true identity was exposed.

Soon, the shop owners called the police. The police not only arrested Ingole but also seized his SUV. The police charged him for impersonating a government official and demanding bribe and misusing the government emblem.
The next day Suresh Ingole was presented in court. He was given bail. The Mulund police are investigating the case.
