FIRE AT MULUND HIGH-RISE !!! THREE INJURED

Mulund: A fire erupted in the meter box cabin of Destiny Heights CHS, a 22-storeyed skyscraper, at Gavanpada in Mulund East. It created panic among the residents. Three people including 2 men and a woman were injured in this blaze.

According to reports, a minor fire broke out in the meter box cabin at Destiny Heights, but it is stunning that despite being such a posh high-rise, the fire was not noticed by anybody. Thus, due to sheer negligence, the fire soon reached the fourth floor, creating alarm among the residents. Fortunately, a citizen witnessed fire inside the meter box cabin and informed the fire brigade. Thankfully, the fire brigade reached the spot within minutes. However, by that time  the fire had spread to the fourth floor and the fire brigade officials had to battle for over an hour to douse the fire!

Three persons, 2 men and a woman, were injured in this blaze and rushed to Veer Savarkar Hospital in Mulund East.

Local residents claimed that they had made several complaints to the MSEDCL officials about some problem in the meter box, but they had ignored the problem. Seema Agarwal, a resident of the tower, told Home Times, “We had lodged several complaints about the problem in the electric meter box but, alas, none of MSEDCL officials paid heed to our woes.” She added, “There have been many more instances of a short circuit, but the huge fire in the building has woken up the administration and they have come to mend the problem.” She added, “Had MSEDCL repaired the meter box problem earlier, then the fire would have never taken place.”
