FROM GARBAGE HEAPS TO ATTRACTIVE LANDSCAPE!!!

Kudos to BMC for giving relief to Mulundkars from the garbage heap menace by inventing the unique landscape formula!

In Mulund West, since long, people used to dump garbage and debris on the open land on the edges of Amar Nagar and Goregaon Mulund Link Road. This caused not only environmental pollution for the people living in the vicinity, but even the motorists passing by the road faced great inconvenience. The foul stink emanating from the filth posed health hazards. In addition, the piles of garbage outside the entrance of the posh Nirmal Towers was a nagging problem faced by the residents. Readers may be aware that both these problems were highlighted by Home Times time and again in its issues. Eventually, BMC has woken from its slumber and has solved the niggling issue quite convincingly.

Inventing a unique style to give relief to the people from the stinking garbage pile, BMC has landscaped the entire area from the edges of Amar Nagar to Mulund Goregaon Link Road, thus transforming the filthy region into an eye-catching and attractive zone! People are delighted and going gaga over BMC’s creative skill. Overjoyed by the mini garden-like landscape, a local resident told Home Times, “This is a brilliant initiative by BMC which has not only got rid of the stink and environment pollution, but the attractive landscape gives positives vibes to the passers-by.” However, sounding a note of caution, the local resident said, “Now that BMC has given us relief from pollution, it is the duty of citizens to maintain the beauty of the place and keep the place neat and clean.”

Informing about the brilliant idea, a BMC official told Home Times, “Cleaning the area was not a problem. The challenge was restoring its cleanliness.  After cleaning the area the possibility of the land being used again for dumping by the residents was always looming large. Secondly, the chance of the land being encroached for illegal parking also existed. Hence, in order to seek a permanent solution to the stinking garbage issue, we tried to completely landscape the region starting from Amar Nagar to the edges of Goregaon Mulund Link Road.” He added, “The beauty of the region will now compel residents to keep aloof from dumping the garbage. Thus, the region shall remain clean forever.”

The place is akin to a mini garden and the residents are delighted. People can be seen walking here and having a pleasant time. BMC informed that soon a similar landscape would be made outside Nirmal Building to get rid of its garbage problem.
