FROM HOSPITAL TO POLLING BOOTH!!

Jyotsna Shah (75), a sick lady from Bhandup became an inspiration for all on Monday, April 29, when she came to cast her vote straight from the hospital in an ambulance!!  In her entire life, Jyotsna Shah has never skipped her voting right but this year, due to her hospitalisation, she feared she would lose her voting opportunity. But, as the English axiom goes, “Where there is a will, there is a way”, despite hospitalisation, she exercised her right to vote!! Truly, people like Jyotsna Shah are the real soul behind the functioning of a democratic nation. Home Times salutes such patriotic senior citizens.

According to her relatives, Jyotsna Shah had been hospitalised since the past seven days. However, when she expressed her desire to vote, her obedient son, with the help of a doctor, took her to the polling booth in an ambulance. After excising her voting right, she looked contented. The joy on her frail face expressed her inner satisfaction of fulfilling her duty to the nation.

Kartik Shah, son of the old lady told Home Times, “I feel proud that when many people enjoy and relax at home on voting day, my old and sick mother took pains to come out from the hospital bed to cast her vote! My mother is an example and, taking inspiration from senior citizens like my mother, others should also learn the importance of voting and vote.”
