HOME TIMES’ ECO – FRIENDLY GANESH COMPETITION EVOKES FANTASTIC RESPONSE

For the first time in Mulund, HOME TIMES organised an Eco-friendly Ganesh Utsav competition which saw 57 competitors keenly competing in the event. The competition was adjudged by Home Times Team and the winners declared on the basis of eco-friendly Ganesh idols or eco-friendly decorations which conveyed social themes. The winners of this grand event were announced by Home Times. This competition witnessed prizes awarded to 10 household and 3 public Ganesh Mandals. Home Times sincerely thanks Kothari Enterprises, Sanghvi Sports, Manba Finance & Sarvottam Agro for sponsoring these events.

 

Mulund resident, Manasi Bharat Bande bagged the First Prize in the one and half-day Eco-friendly Ganesh competition for her installation of Ganeshji on an island near a seashore.

 

The Second Prize in the one and half-day Eco-friendly Ganesh competition went to Dharmesh Suresh Thakkar, also a Mulundkar. His presentation showed Bappa mounted on an elephant with Kerala as the backdrop and coconut trees in the foreground, depicting ecology.

 

Miloni Lakhani topped the 3-day category of this competition and won the First Prize for portraying the story of Bhagwan Gajendra in her home for which she made use of paper, cardboard and other materials.

 

Vrushti Shah has bagged the Second Prize in the 3-day category of this competition. She has stressed the need to protect the environment on the theme, ‘‘Save Nature, Save Breath & Survive On Spirituality.’’

 

Gangadhar Kodte was awarded the First Prize by Home Times in the 10-day Eco-friendly Ganesh competition. He created the Ganesh idol and used cardboard to make an image of a peacock as also re-usable electrical gadgets.

 

The 5-day Eco-friendly Ganesh competition saw Poonam Raikundalia bag the First Prize for depicting BJP’s famous motto, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ as also the party’s multifarious achievements and success.

 

In the same 5-day category, Vibhuti Thakkar scooped up the Second Prize for her depiction of Ganesha using pencils, erasers and sharpeners provided by her family which will be donated to the needy after Bappa’s Visarjan.

 

The Home Times-organised 7- day Eco-friendly Ganesh competition saw Dilip Chouhan walk away with the First Prize in this category. He created the Ganesh idol replicating Gujarat’s famous Chamunda Mata mandir at Chautali Dham.

 

Sushma Thakkar took the Second Prize in the same 7-day category for creating the Ganesh idol using flower and paper garlands along with diyas.

 

Sanjay Rakhasia was awarded the Second Prize in the same 10-day category for his Ganesha decoration displaying a replica of Chandrayaan 2, the universe, satellite and other astral phenomena.

 

Shanti Nagar Residents Association bagged the First Prize in the Sarvajanik Eco-friendly Ganesh competition for being the most eco-friendly Ganesh Pandal. They installed a fibre-glass Ganesh idol amidst jungle scenery having an army of monkeys, using paper, cardboard and acrylic paints. This idol will not be immersed. However, the accompanying clay idol of Ganesha will be immersed in the 11th day.

 

Siddharth Nagar’s Shree Gurjar Kshatriya Kadia Samaj won the Second Prize in the Sarvajanik Ganesh competition which had the GEW theme i.e. G for Green, E for eco-friendly and W, meaning from Waste to Best. They had based their decoration on these three themes, urging the devotees to protect the environment. Here, the Ganeshotsav would be held for 5 days only.

 

The Best Ganesh Idol award was presented by Home Times to Om Group. As in the previous years, this group has created a replica of at J. N.Road with Ganesha adorning the throne.
