J.N.ROAD PIPELINE UNDER REPAIRS Pipeline leakage since past many months

Nothing seems to bother Mulund’s BMC T-Ward. In spite of heavy leakage of drinking water near Geeta Collections at J. N.Road in Mulund(W), it seems the powers-that -be at T-Ward were blissfully ignorant of this issue. When Home Times team took up the issue with T-Ward’s Water Dept., we were informed that the pothole in the area has been filled, but there is no leakage of water there. Thus, the road is being dug up to detect the leakage. If the locals are to be believed, the water pipeline near Geeta Collections has been broken since the past many months resulting in heavy leakage of precious drinking water. Due to this, a big pothole has emerged here. Complaints were lodged with T-Ward, but till now no corrective measures seem to have been taken. Whither ‘Save Water’ campaign? After Home Times’ campaign, the pothole has been levelled, but the pipeline is still awaiting repairs.

” It’s been a long time since water has been leaking here and the pothole has been lying unattended, causing tremendous problems to the people. This has also led to traffic jams here. BMC should take immediate steps to set things right.”

” On the one hand, many parts of Mumbai are facing water shortage due to scarce rainfall in certain areas, but here the colossal wastage of drinking water since the past few months does not seem right. If the population puts forth its grievances before any authority, then the same should be redressed as soon as possible.”
