Leg Cramps

Leg Cramps are a common problem that generally affects the feet, calf muscles and thigh muscles. They are sudden involuntary, painful contractions of one or more leg muscles, lasting for a few minutes. Leg cramps are more common with age and during pregnancy, occurring mostly during sleep or while resting.

What causes Leg Cramps?
Dehydration
Tiredness or weakness of leg muscles
Inadequate blood circulation in legs due to narrowing of blood vessels
Compression of nerves of spine
Deficiency of calcium, potassium or magnesium in diet, as these minerals help muscles to work smoothly
Diabetes or thyroid disorders
Alcoholism

5 ways to cure Leg Cramps permanently

Do regular Yoga and Sam Won Dong which are excellent stretching exercises to relax the muscles
Drink plenty of fluids daily to avoid dehydration
Reduce the intake of alcohol and aerated drinks
Eat a balanced diet and include nuts and seeds which are an excellent source of important minerals like magnesium, calcium.
Sujok Therapy:
Twist each joint of hands and feet clockwise and anti-clockwise for 2-3 minutes, 3 times daily.
Colour Therapy – Colour the third and fourth toes of foot green, which corresponds to the legs (pic 1).


Seed Therapy – Apply fenugreek seeds (methi) around the coloured toes of feet with adhesive tape. This helps in increasing the blood circulation in legs and relaxing the muscles (pic 2).
