LIONS CLUB OF MULUND’S AWARDS CEREMONY CONCLUDES
The Lions Club of Mulund’s Annual Awards Nite was held on May 25, 2019 at Hotel Ananta. This event was held to applaud the contribution of the entire team of Lions in 2018-2019 under the leadership Lions President, Lion Sunita Desai.
The function commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp and invocation to the Almighty. Lions Treasurer, Lion Hitendra Lakhani recited a prayer in his mellifluous voice. The Lions Club’s Karaoke group regaled the audience with a variety of songs in their inimitable style. Moreover, Lions Club of Mulund’s Secretary, Lion Vinod Somal and Treasurer Lion Hitendra Lakhani, with their comedy and acting, made the gathering spell-bound.
This year, the awards were grouped into 7 categories in which 110 awards were given. These awards are bestowed upon those who have undertaken various Lions projects throughout the year. Moreover, Lions Club of Lady Auxiliary and Leo Club also undertake various projects to support the Lions President. As a result, Lions Club of Mulund has been recognised both at the District Level and Multiple Level.
This year, the Club bagged the Multiple Award for their Learn and Earn (Lion Maya Kothari) and Rural Upliftment (Lion Sharad Patel) projects. Leo Club bagged 4 awards from Lions District though the Leo Multiple and Lions District Awards Nites are yet to be held. This has been possible owing to the immense contribution of all member Lions. Lion Lady Auxiliary President, Lion Rita Katiyal was presented a special award for her leading role in multifarious activities. Lions International President presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Leo Club President, Leo Hemanshu Kothari for the ‘Best Leo Club’. Lions Club of Mulund President, Lion Sunita Desai expressed great satisfaction and congratulated Leo Hemanshu Kothari on his achievement. Lion President, Lion Sunita Desai profusely thanked Lion Batukbhai Shah, Lion Sheel Arora and Lion Sharad Patel for launching 6 permanent projects as well as all those team members who worked selflessly throughout the year on various activities of the Club.
Amongst the many awards, October Service Week Chairperson, Lion Maya Kothari and Lion Dhirendra Shah were conferred the ‘Lion of the Year’ title. Lion Mona Desai compered the event. Lion Mayur Lakhani spared no efforts to make this Awards Nite a grand success. The gala event concluded with a sumptuous dinner and fond memories.
