At the age of 68 years when people are physically exhausted, Mulund’s senior citizen lady, Mugdha Gole (68), has displayed exemplary valour by nabbing a thief! Despite being a cancer patient and having physical problems, the old lady single-handedly grappled with the young thief who had stolen her handbag. The police saluted her courage as Mugdha unknowingly helped the police in nabbing a member of a gang that has been targeting senior citizens on the CSMT – Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express for many months! Home Times, too, admires Mugdha Gole for her exceptional courage and heroism!

According to reports, Mulund East resident Mugdha Gole and her husband, Vasudev, were on a pilgrimage to Kolhapur to seek Amba Mata’s darshan. On Monday, October 28, 2019, the old couple boarded the CSMT-Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express from CSMT at 7.30 p.m. After comfortably sitting on their reserved seats, Mugdha handed her bag containing cash and important documents to her husband and went to the washroom.  However, when she came out from the washroom she was aghast to observe a youth carrying her handbag. Hence, she tried to grab the thief but he hurriedly jumped out of the train and vanished.

Nevertheless, Mugdha did not lose hope and instead got down at the station in the hope of catching the thief. Fortunately, she sighted the thief and pounced upon him like a wild tigress. The youth tried to flee but Mugdha fearlessly caught him by his collar and his pant belt and dragged him inside the compartment. However, the youth kept struggling and tried to escape from Mugdha’s firm grip. But Mugdha did not lose her grip and managed to push the thief into the train compartment despite suffering a few punches and kicks from the thief!!

Once inside the compartment, the thief managed to release himself from Mugdha’s grasp and took to his heels! Watching the thief run, Mugdha raised an alarm. Fortunately, a few policemen heard Mugdha’s cries and they nabbed the thief after a hot chase in typical filmy style.  Later, the police provided first-aid to Mugdha and wished the couple a happy pilgrimage.
