Mystery shrouds the death of youth found outside Bombay IIT gate!

A student of Mumbai’s prestigious IBS-ICFAI Business School at Hiranandani Complex, Powai, Nikhil Shah (21), who was found in an unconscious state near BEST bus stop, outside IIT Main Gate in Powai, died due to brain haemorrhage on Saturday. Mystery shrouds the death of Nikhil as the police have found nothing suspicious!!

According to reports, on July 12, 2019, at around 6.30 p.m. Nikhil was found injured and lying unconscious near the gate of IIT Bombay ahead of a bus stop. Watching the youth in pain, passers-by rushed to his rescue. People tried to revive him by sprinkling water on his face to help him regain consciousness. However, Nikhil did not respond. Hence, people immediately called the ambulance and took him to a nearby private hospital. The doctors treating Nikhil informed that somebody had brutally attacked Nikhil on his head with a hard object, due to which Nikhil has gone into a coma. However, during treatment, Nikhil succumbed to his injuries.

The police have recovered Nikhil’s bag, ATM card and his wallet containing a huge amount of money from the place where Nikhil was found lying unconscious. Hence, the police believe that Nikhil has not been attacked for theft. The police have, nevertheless, not declined the possibility of some unidentified vehicle or some wild animal knocking him down. The police have lodged a complaint against an unidentified person.

The Powai Police told the media, “Generally, outside Mumbai IIT Campus there is a lot of crowd during the peak hour in the evening. Hence, it is quite surprising how could nobody witness the attack on Nikhil?”

The police have handed over the dead body of Nikhil to his parents. Nikhil’s parents and his sister are in a state of shock. They still do not know the mystery behind Nikhil’s tragic death. Nikhil’s father who works as a C.A. in a reputed firm said, “My son was a simple boy. He had no enemies. He was so simple that he would come home by BEST bus. Rarely did he hire an auto-rickshaw. I am confused who can attack my innocent son?”

Nikhil’s mother was seen crying uncontrollably. She could not believe that her son was no more. Recalling her son, her mother said, “On Friday, he told me that he would come early. Hence, I was eagerly anticipating him. But when it became 7 p.m. my heart began to beat fast and I suspected something fishy. Even before I could think something else, I got a call from the hospital that Nikhil has been admitted in the hospital! I was shattered!”

The doctors told, “We tried our best to save Nikhil. He was rushed to the Emergency Ward. We did MRI at midnight and shifted him to ICU. But the attack was so brutal that Nikhil had sustained brain haemorrhage. Hence, within 10 hours of admission, Nikhil suffered 4 acute heart attacks and died of the last attack.”

The Senior Inspector of Powai police station said, “We have registered a case of accidental death. We do not know the exact cause. A probe is still on as we have not found an eyewitness or proof.”
