NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL HELD!!

The Anti-Chain Snatching Team (ACST) of Zone VII, in a special combing operation, succeeded in nabbing a notorious criminal.

The accused, Asif Shabbir Sayyad, is a history-sheeter and has been under the radar of Mumbai police since past many years. Besides Mulund, Shabbir has as many as 50 cases of cheating, fraud and forgery at various police stations across Mumbai and its suburbs. According to the police, Asif usually targeted senior citizens or ladies by engaging them in his sweet talks. He would hunt his target near hospitals, banks or public administration offices. He was such a smooth talker that while talking he would cleverly steal valuables from the persons without their knowledge.

Sometimes, he would disguise himself as an employee of an hospital and stood outside the Scanning Center. He would ask the ladies to keep their gold and jewellery outside the Scanning Center. Ladies trusted him and by the time they returned from the Scanning Center, Asif would have decamped with their jewellery. Thus, the police found it difficult to nab him. However, on Saturday, June 29, 2019, the Anti-Chain Snatching Team (ACST) of Zone VII Police conducted a combing operation at Amboli area and succeeded in nabbing Asif.

The Anti-Chain Snatching Team (ACST) of Zone VII team that did the praiseworthy arrest was led by Akhilesh Singh (DCP of Zone VII), Pandurang Shinde (Asstt Commissioner of Police) and nodal officer Pratap Bhosle and his team.
