Notorious Gang Creating Terror at Shanker Tekdi
Shankar Tekadi located at Shastri Nagar in Mulund Colony, Mulund West, has become a hub of anti-social and druggies. As a result, the residents in the vicinity are terrified as not only their women’s modesty is at stake, but even the vehicles of the residents are bearing the brunt of vandalism. The residents are thus fuming with anger and seeking a solution to eradicate this menace.
Rajni Khadpe, a lady living in the area, informed Home Times, “We have been facing the menace of anti-social elements and druggies for the past many months. But, in the recent past, the number has escalated, and the place has become a nightmare, particularly for ladies at night.” She added, “The situation has turned so grim that the movement of ladies at night has become a challenge.”
Besides ladies and children, the place has become unsafe even for the residents who park their vehicles outside their homes. A few days back, 8 vehicles in the area were brutally damaged by these miscreants. Side-view mirrors of some vehicles were brutally smashed, and the seat covers of some vehicles were ruthlessly torn apart, while some parked bikes were pelted with stones and a few bikes were hysterically dumped into the nullah!!! Though the police have registered a case against these wicked miscreants, they are yet to arrest them!
Sangeeta Kamble, another lady, informed, “The area has become so terrifying that people fear to confront these hoodlums. The gang had slashed the seat cover of our bike. Besides attacking vehicles, this gang is also associated in stealing petrol from the vehicles.”
Local residents assert that police must increase the number of policemen patrolling the area and keep a vigil on this notorious gang. Sachin Khandare, a local resident, told Home Times, “We have noticed these notorious elements consuming liquor and drugs and their fear is gripping in the area. After incidents of goons attacking vehicles and dumping bikes in the nullah, people of the area are more scared.”
