Now, Potholes Repaired In 24 Hours! WhatsApp Pics To BMC!!
Believe it or not but, this year, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has guaranteed Mumbaikars to fix the potholes on Mumbai roads within 24 hours!!! All a Mumbaikar has to do is to click photographs of potholes and send it to the civic body via BMC App or on the BMC WhatsApp number. BMC has promised to repair them instantaneously! For the convenience of Mumbaikars, the BMC has published the WhatsApp numbers of all the 24 Ward Road Engineers.
BMC has been conning innocent Mumbaikars with such gimmicks since the past many years but, alas, the rate of accidents due to potholes in Mumbai, instead of declining, has only escalated. The reason is simple: BMC employees are not held accountable or dismissed from service despite their negligence. Thus, despite repeated flaks by the honourable Bombay High Court or media criticism, BMC learns no lessons.
Remember, in 2017, RJ Malishka Mendonsa had made a video of a parody of a Marathi song ‘Mumbai Tula BMC Var Bharosa Nahi Kai! (Mumbai, don’t you trust BMC?) and had made fun of crater-filled roads in Mumbai. But, instead of repairing the roads, BMC slapped a defamation suit on her!! And, last but not the least, in spite of multiple deaths due to potholes, the callous BMC has not desisted from carrying out shoddy work. Each year, it just makes tall claims that it would fix the potholes on receiving complaints, but the claims are nothing but an eyewash!!!

BMC T-Ward Road Engineer, Hemant Bhoye, informed Home Times that BMC WhatsApp number is quite popular in Mulund as they are getting many complaints. “Till now, we have received 9 complaints. 7 complaints were for potholes on private land, 1 case of waterlogging and 1 pothole. As regards pothole complaints on private land we have given the private owners important tips to mend the pothole. We have instantaneously mended the pothole on civic land.”
He added, “Many senior citizens who are not equipped with the latest technology of WhatsApp and have a problem uploading the photo of a pothole on WhatsApp, can just call us on the same number and our engineers will rush to the spot and fix the pothole immediately.” “In addition, citizens also have the option of making a complaint on the MCGM 24X7 App. This App can be easily downloaded from the Play Store App,” he asserted.
