OLA DRIVER ASSAULTED!!

An innocent Pune-based Ola cab driver was ruthlessly beaten and robbed by four cab drivers associated with the Ola and Uber Cab Drivers’ Union Association for violating the private cab strike!!! The Pune Ola cab driver also complained of being looted of Rs. 32,000/-. The police have arrested all the four accused.

Readers may recall that for the past 12 days, the App-based cab drivers of Ola and Uber companies are on strike, demanding hike in fare rates, but the company owners are paying no heed to their demands. Nevertheless, Ola and Uber cab drivers are adamant and are continuing their strike. The Ola and Uber Cab Drivers’ Unions are intimidating all drivers who are trying to do business without their permission. One such driver, Santaji Patil, a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad in Pune, became the target of angry Ola and Uber cab drivers on strike.

According to reports, the victim had brought a passenger from Pune to Bhandup. The striking unions got the information and they were furious. Hence, in order to teach a lesson to both, the Ola Company owners and the Ola driver, the drivers’ unions of Ola and Uber, themselves acting as customers, booked an Ola cab from Bhandup to visit Pune.

Ola Company forwarded the service to Santaji Patil. Hence, he reached Amrut Nagar in Bhandup West to pick up his passengers. No sooner the cab driver Patil had arrived, he was taken aback as four people took him to a nearby office and beat him brutally. Besides thrashing him cruelly, the four men also looted Rs. 32,000/- cash and a mobile Tab.

The cab drivers’ unions of Ola and Uber also made a video of assaulting the cab driver and made it viral. The drivers on strike told the media that they had assaulted the driver to terrorise Ola and Uber companies and the drivers who are trying to violate their strike.

Santaji Patil reported the assault and robbery case to Bhandup Police station. On the basis of his complaint, Bhandup Police arrested the four accused drivers. According to the Police, they have arrested the four accused and booked them under charges of robbery, physical assault and criminal intimidation.

The four arrested accused are Mohammad Rauf Shah, Aman Mohammad Sheikh, Bhau Saheb alias Bapu Susanne and Ashok Kumar Ramdulari Sharma.
