Petrol Pump Fraud Exposed in Mulund!

Motorists and bikers, beware! The next time if you go to the petrol pump to refill your vehicle’s tank, be alert. Keep an eye on the petrol meter and check your vehicle’s indicator that you have received the right measure of petrol for the money you paid. Recently, at Mulund’s Dolare Petrol Pump, a biker was cheated. Fortunately, the alert biker noticed the crime and lodged a police complaint.  Incidentally, the owner of the petrol pump has acknowledged the crime!!!

According to reports, Tushar Nitin Patil, filled Rs. 400 petrol in his bike from the Dolare Petrol Pump located at LBS Marg in Mulund West. However, Patil suspected that the petrol pump had cheated him. Informing Home Times, he said, “I got suspicious after the indicator of my bike indicated that less petrol has been filled. Hence, I even confirmed with the attendant, but he did not give me a befitting reply.”

Annoyed at the cheating, Tushar made a video of the incident. He threatened the attendant at the petrol pump who filled the petrol. He sternly asked the attendant to cough up the truth or else he would expose the entire video in public. Frightened, the attendant acknowledged his mistake. He agreed that he had filled less petrol.

Exposing the height of corruption at the petrol pump Tushar told Home Times, “After the employee accepted his mistake, I asked him to remove the petrol and re-fill. On removing the petrol, I was left stunned to find that it measured just 1.5 litres instead of 5 litres for which I paid Rs. 400/-!!”

Irked at the large scale corruption, Tushar immediately lodged a complaint at Mulund police station.  Surprisingly, when Home Times team quizzed the petrol pump owner, he acknowledged the theft. He said, “It is true that one of our employees had committed the heinous crime of cheating our client. He was a new employee, but the moment his crime was exposed, we fired him from the job.”
