Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
PCOS is a very common hormonal disorder experienced by 1 out of 10 young women of childbearing age. PCOS is characterized by multiple cysts in ovaries, higher levels of male hormone and irregular periods. Since PCOS has an impact on the woman’s quality of life, it is very important to treat this disorder holistically and avoid complications.
What is PCOS?
The pituitary endocrine gland in the brain produces follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). These hormones stimulate ovaries to release hormones – estrogen and progesterone, which regulate the menstrual cycle. This results in the production of follicle – a sac that contains egg in the ovary and the release of a mature egg every month. In PCOS disorder many fluid-filled sacs (cysts) grow inside ovaries which contain immature eggs. These eggs never mature enough to trigger ovulation, thus causing irregular periods and many complications.

Smile Meditation and Pranayama: De-stressing is the most important part of treatment because, due to high anxiety and tensions, the main secretions of FSH and LH hormones in the brain are disturbed. This results in disruption of secretions of estrogen and progesterone in ovaries.
Sujok Therapy:
Activation of corresponding points of ovaries on palms of hands, with fingers or probe for 1 minute, 4-5 times daily (pic 1).
