Rash Driving Claims Yet Another Mulund Victim!!

The menace of rash driving continues to kill innocent people but, alas, the government is a mute spectator. This week, a 19-year-old pedestrian was killed at Chunabhatti in Mumbai when she was brutally hit by a car driven by a drunken man. Similarly, a video of a senior citizen being run over by a 13-year-old minor girl went viral this week. In Mulund, an elderly person was cruelly hit by a reckless auto driver! The person was injured so seriously that he died during treatment due to the extreme loss of blood!!

According to Mulund Police the victim, Mulund resident Mohammad Afzal Farooq Shaikh (55), was a barber by profession. On Monday, December 9, 2019, at noon, he had gone out of the house for a stroll. While he was walking down JSD Road, a speeding auto (MHO4HJ3109) banged him from behind and knocked him down. He was gravely wounded and started bleeding profusely.

Bystanders rushed him to MT Agarwal Hospital but Shaikh was so critical that the doctors recommended him to Sion Hospital. However, due to excessive bleeding, Shaikh died during treatment at Sion Hospital.

Aslam Shaikh, the son of the deceased, lodged a complaint at Mulund Police Station. The police began an investigation and arrested the killer driver Uttam Panchal (57).
