SCIENCE THROUGH THE EYES OF MULUND’S STUDENTS BMC T-Ward Organises Science Exhibition

To inculcate the spirit of the invention in students, BMC T-Ward had recently organised a Science Exhibition at St. Pius School in Mulund (W). This year, too, the response from the students and their parents was overwhelming.

If students show a keen interest in Science, then that day will not be far off when our future generation would become scientists, astronauts, inventors, etc. To bring the science students at par with their counterparts in other streams and encourage them to encourage their inventive minds, this exhibition provided a platform to our young scientists. Such an exhibition is held each year where students from different schools showcase their projects. Students from 80 schools displayed 250 science projects.

Students displayed their scientific prowess over 3 days by their different innovative projects which included projects on rainwater harvesting, solar energy, bio-farming, traffic management, energy development, etc.

The projects are given to the students related to Science and Technology. Both, the students and their teachers were equally involved in creating these projects. Students of different schools as also their parents had gathered in large numbers to witness this unique exhibition. Open debate was also organised at this event. Distinguished science luminaries also expressed their views which were well-received by the students who felt encouraged by their inspiring words. This would lead to greater interaction between the students themselves and widen their scientific vision, as averred by Mr Sharad Gole, Dy. Inspector of Education.

This exhibition had two categories, viz, Junior and Senior. In the former category Parag Vidhyalaya, Bhandup, bagged the first prize followed by Jay Bharat School of Mulund taking the second prize and Shri Saraswati School of Bhandup getting the third prize. In the Senior category, St Gregorius Public School, Mulund, walked away with the first prize whereas St Pius School bagged the second prize and Holy Angel School received the third prize.
