Security Threat Looming Over Mulund; Police Ignorant Of The Danger!!!

Just last week, Mumbai paid homage to the martyrs of the Mumbai terrorist attack when policemen and army jawans laid down their lives saving Mumbai from the terrorists who killed several innocent people and Mumbai’s top cops. The nation commemorated the 10th anniversary of Mumbai’s 26/11 attack. Media raised questions on Mumbai’s security, but our Mumbai Police Commissioner expressed satisfaction. But the truth is bizarre as, right under the nose of Mulund Police Station, a huge security threat is thriving and, astonishingly, Mulund Police is totally ignorant of the unexpected danger!!!

Readers would be shocked to know that just a stone’s throw from Mulund Police station on N.S. Road in Mulund West a disaster is in the waiting! Shocked?? Well, Home Times’ investigative reporters have unearthed that since past many months 4 to 5 auto rickshaws are lying abandoned near Mochi building. These auto rickshaws are in ruins and may be a potent threat to society. A terror group or any anti-national organisation can misuse these deserted auto rickshaws for evil use!! In case something untoward happens, a major catastrophe may occur and prove horrific for Mulundkars because the place is crowded. Being located on the main road, it could prove more lethal as hundreds of men, women and children walk on the road. In addition, Mulund Police Station is nearby!!!

What is most surprising is that these junked auto rickshaws have NOT been noticed either by RTO officials or the officials of Mulund Police station!!! Interestingly, the people who frequently walk on this road told Home Times that at night these scrap auto rickshaws become a hub for anti-social elements who drink and consume drugs.

It is, indeed, most deplorable that when Home Times reporters asked RTO and Mulund Police station officials about these abandoned auto rickshaws, both expressed ignorance on this sensitive security issue’. Both gave a standard reply, “Nobody has made a complaint regarding the junk auto rickshaws. Until we get a complaint, we do not take action!!!”

Does that mean the security forces in charge of Mulund will keep their eyes shut just because the citizens have not lodged a complaint and allow a disaster to happen???? Shame!! Shame!!

Home Times demands the concerned officials to act fast and take immediate action to remove the abandoned auto rickshaws before any untoward disaster takes place!!
