Street lights at Mulund Colony start functioning!

Home Times has, yet again, succeeded in solving the woes of the public as the non-functional street lights at Highland Park in Mulund Colony have been restored after Home Times highlighted the public grievance. The people living in the area, particularly the senior citizens and ladies who faced much inconvenience due to the darkness, have heaved a sigh of relief and thanked Home Times for truly being the ‘Crusader of Mulund’!

Delighted at the functioning of the street lights, Ganesh Salunkhe, said, “We are very happy at the restoration of the street lights. Earlier, the place had turned into a den of anti-socials and hoodlums would drink and consume drugs. These notorious elements had made life miserable for women and the people in the area. However, thanks to Home Times, after publication of the news, MSEDCL has restored the street lights. Even the police patrolling in our area has increased.”

The road leading to Shanker Tekdi at Highland Park in Mulund Colony was plunged into the darkness since past many weeks. The road at night turned so pitch dark that commuting without a torch was impossible. The local residents from the area complained that it was terrifying to commute on the road as Mulund Colony is surrounded by Sanjay Gandhi National Park, hence there is always the fear of wild animals. Taking advantage of this darkness, goons had mushroomed, and instances of chain-snatching had been reported in the area. In addition, some notorious hoodlums had even broken the safety grill installed at the safety wall of Highland Park building.”

Aruna Ghadge, a resident and social activist, thanked Home Times for its efforts to restore the street lights. She also expressed her gratitude for solving the meter-boxes issue lying open. Ghadge told, “The people of this area are thankful to Home Times for restoring the street lights and closing the dangerous meter boxes.”

Haresh Belolkar, a local resident, said, “In the absence of street lights, the ladies of the area were daily harassed and exploited. Taking undue advantage of the darkness, the anti-socials had unleashed terror, forcing the local residents to stay indoors at night. But, now we are happy as the street lights have become functional.”
