Swachh Survekshan Survey, 2019 Begins in Mulund; T-Ward in overdrive!!

Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Government of India has started its Swachh Survekshan Survey 2019. From January onwards Swachh Survekshan Survey would kick- start. In Mulund, under the Swachh Survekshan Survey 2019, BMC T-Ward conducted a Rath Yatra to create awareness among Mulundkars to keep Mulund clean. During this Rath Yatra, T-Ward officials also cleared the debris accumulated by the roadsides in Mulund, thus kick-starting the Swachh Mulund Abhiyan in a big way!!

Last week, a special team from Delhi consisting of top officials from the Quality Council of India visited Mumbai for inspecting and verifying the cleanliness level of Mumbai as part of the Swachh Survekshan Survey, a wing of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which ranks cities across the country on the basis of their cleanliness quotient. The team visited every ward of Mumbai and did a survey of its cleanliness and took details about how awareness about cleanliness is being created in every Ward by its respective BMC officials. They also suggested various innovative methods to make Mumbai cleaner.

With the Rath Yatra, BMC T-Ward has given a new impetus to Swachh Mulund Abhiyan. Under this, T-Ward officials have made an appeal to Mulundkars to keep Mulund clean. In addition, T-Ward team is visiting slums and buildings and explaining to residents the advantages of maintaining cleanliness. Besides, T-Ward officials are also creating awareness about Swachh Mulund Abhiyan amongst pedestrians by performing street-plays highlighting the importance of cleanliness.

The Mulund Solid Waste Management team is engaged in explaining to building residents about the segregation process of wet and dry garbage and how to extract useful manure from it. In case of buildings that do not have space to convert wet garbage into manure, T-Ward officials are providing them additional space.

T-Ward officials are also visiting slums and educating the slum-dwellers the hazards of uncleanliness and urging them to maintain hygiene.  T-Ward is also making a note of increasing public toilets in slum areas.

What’s more, T-Ward officials are also working on keeping the roads of Mulund clean and efforts are being made to beautify Mulund roads. In an attempt to make the roads beautiful, plans are afoot to paint the walls with colourful paintings highlighting cleanliness slogans and awareness.  Thus, from children to elders to senior citizens, everybody is being made aware to keep Mulund clean in a bid to win the first prize in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Home Times appreciates BMC T-Ward’s initiative and wishes its Swachh Mulund Abhiyan a grand success, but to make this mission a real success Home Times urges Mulundkars to extend complete and dedicated support.
