T-WARD’S NEGLIGENCE MAY COST MULUNDKARS DEARLY

Angry Mulundkars are dejected by the apathy of BMC T-Ward. Annoyed at the negligence and the poor quality of work done by BMC workers, Mulundkars are scared that they fear one day the negligence of T-Ward may prove fatal to their lives!!  A Mulundkar mourned, “The work done by BMC workers is so pitiable that it can result in any calamity on any given day. What is most annoying is that there are many places in Mulund that require desperate BMC assistance but, despite knowing the problem, BMC T-Ward is turning a Nelson’s Eye to the public’s woes!”

Informing about a calamity-in-waiting, a Mulundkar told Home Times, “On P.K. Road, near Surya Eye Care in Mulund West, a 25 to 30 feet tall cement pole erected for clearing gas in the gutter is posing threat to the lives of Mulundkars. This pole was made years ago and has now become redundant. It has become so weak that it has tilted towards on one side and appears to be on the verge of collapse.” He added, “The chances of the pole collapsing any moment are great as it is bending from the top and, at the bottom, it has developed wide cracks. Hence, it is indeed a threat to the lives of citizens.”

When Home Times spoke to the T-Ward junior engineer Vijay Bhed, he said, “I will immediately make a note and repair the pole. In case we find the pole to be in a precarious condition, then we will demolish it.”

BMC uses just 36% of the allocated budget! Shame!!
It is, indeed, shameful that each year BMC allocates a huge amount for the welfare of the city but, alas, instead of using the funds constructively for the progress and development of the Mumbai, the BMC officials do not make appropriate use of the funds allocated.
Tragically, each year, a major portion of the funds is not utilized!!! This year, too, till December 2018 BMC has just used 36% of the funds allotted. The little good news to cheer is that this BMC has used 5% more as compared to last year!!

Surprisingly, BMC has used just 28% of the funds allocated for water and sewage. It is shocking that Mumbaikars battle for proper water supply and have major sewage issues that bring the city to a standstill each year during monsoon. Therefore, BMC should have utilized the funds generously and solved Mumbai’s water and sewage issues!!! But, alas, BMC is not held accountable, hence they are not serious in their work! If the government makes them accountable and kick out the lazy staff as done in the corporate sector then perhaps things will change!!!
