Toll Naka Becomes Pothole-free!
Home Times, in its issue dated Saturday, 14th September – 24 September 2019, had highlighted the pothole menace on the Eastern Express Highway in its story –‘Fill Potholes And Then Collect Toll”… infuriated commuters’. Interestingly, acting upon the news report, the BMC awoke from its slumber and has reportedly started filling the potholes. The motorists are delighted as the Toll Naka has become pothole-free and driving is a delight. Motorists have thanked Home Times for solving their woes.
It may be noted that the plight of the Eastern Express Highway towards Airoli was so pathetic that commuting on the road was a nightmare. People riding two-wheelers and three-wheelers were worst hit. Due to umpteen potholes, these drivers faced much inconvenience.
Many times, two-wheeler riders unable to maintain balance, were miraculously saved due to presence of mind. Yet, the fear of death always threatened them. Hence, they raised their voice through a video and made it viral on social media. Home Times took a reality check of the Eastern Express Highway and discussed the gravity of the situation with the BMC’s concerned It department. It published pictures of the potholes and confronted the civic administration. Eventually, the civic body swung into action and started filling the potholes.
