Truck goes up in flames on EEH! Heat wave the culprit?

With the sudden rise in temperature, the scorching heat wave has become unbearable for us humans. But the big question is: Are heat waves deadly even for vehicles? Well, the answer may be tricky, but in a bizarre accident a truck went up in flames on the ‘killer’ Eastern Express Highway (EEH) on Tuesday afternoon. According to an eyewitness, the accident was so uncanny that the entire truck was blown up and the material it was carrying was charred to ashes! Fortunately, when the truck blew up in flames there were no other vehicles near it, hence a major calamity was averted.

The truck (MH04FD3065) had left Thane and was on its way towards Mumbai. Around 3 p.m. in the blistering afternoon, the truck reached Mulund East Anand Nagar Toll Naka when the driver noticed smoke emitting from the engine. He soon tried to stop the truck but, before he could apply the brakes, the fire engulfed the entire truck in its blazing flames!!

In order to save his life, the vigilant driver immediately jumped off the blazing truck! Soon, the fire brigade, Navghar Police and BMC officials brought the fire in control.

However, due to the accident, the traffic was badly affected between Thane and Mumbai for a few hours. There was a huge traffic jam. The police are investigating the reason behind the accident!! Was it the sweltering temperature that made the engine too hot and it resulted in the fire is a critical question that is haunting the police.
