GOSHALA ROAD IN DISREPAIR; Threat to motorists!!

In Mulund, the road repair work is in full swing. At some places, new paver blocks are being fitted, while at some places potholes are being filled. At some places, the work is done while at other places it is still incomplete. Home Times took a survey of such incomplete work and noticed that the work on Goshala Road, close to J.N. Road in Mulund West, is incomplete. It may be noted more than three months have passed, but still the work is lying incomplete. As a result, motorists are having great difficulty and their lives are in danger!!

According to the local residents, the work of Goshala Road is moving at a snail’s speed. Initially, when the road work started, the contractors dug up the road and left it is as it is for 15 days with just dirt piled over it! This caused severe annoyance to motorists. After much delay, the work re-started following a lot of criticism from the people. However, it is tragic that the road work has once again been left incomplete.
Annoyed by the incomplete work, a local resident, ShivdasNayar, told Home Times, “Due to the incomplete road, traffic jam is a major problem. In addition, due to potholes, there are chances of accidents.” He added, “A few days back, a car had turned turtle after it fell into the pothole. Hence, the road should be completed soon to avoid such accidents. In another mishap, a bulldozer hit an electric pole. Hence, people have to suffer power cut in the scorching summer.”
Santosh Tiwari, a shopkeeper on Goshala Road, lamented, “Since past four months I am suffering heavy losses in my business as there is no vehicle passing on this road. Also, the bikers are upset due to the uneven road.”
When Home Times spoke to area Corporator, SamitaKamble, she said, “The work will soon be completed. The reason behind the delay is that we are placing a new pipeline. I am sure the work will be completed within 10 days.”
