Heart disease is generally connected with men, however the scenario has gradually changed. Today, heart disease is a very common concern amongst women. Our Monisha’s Mantra is working towards spreading this awareness of heart disease in women and helping them stay healthy.
Early signs of heart disease in Women
General tiredness and weakness
Swelling in legs, ankles or feet
Pain in neck, jaws, arms or upper back
Discomfort or heaviness in chest
Nausea or dizziness
Common risk factors
Overweight and obesity
High blood pressure and cholesterol
Inflammatory diseases like rheumatism, lupus.

The most important way of prevention is eating high-fibre and low-fat, low-salt and low-sugar diet. Include more of salads, fruits, dry fruits, seeds and millets in diet.
Be physically active and maintain healthy weight.
Quit smoking because it is a major risk factor for heart disease.
Reduce intake of alcohol.
Control blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
De-stress with Smile Taiji and Smile meditation.
Stimulate the corresponding heart point on palm of any hand under the thumb with fingers. Do the massage for a minute, 4 times daily (pic 1).
Seed Therapy: Apply pumpkin seed on the corresponding point of heart on the palm of any hand with adhesive tape, daily at night (pic 2).
