Readers may be aware that a major part of the Mulund East’s Shree Swami Samarth garden has been sacrificed to pave way for the new road that passes from the garden. Initially, there was a great tussle between the local residents and the civic administration over the road being taken from the garden, but the civic administration convinced the protestors about the acute necessity of the road to ease the traffic jam. Eventually, the work on the road connecting the Eastern Express Highway and Mulund East started. Now, the great news is that the road is in its last stages of completion and shall become operational from next week!!!
New Link Road boon to Mulundkars
The new connecting road from the Eastern Express Highway to Mulund East will be a boon for people travelling from Thane to Mulund. The other major advantage of this new road is that it will reduce lots of traffic load on the Navghar Flyover. In addition, the new road will reduce the time for commuters travelling from Mulund to Thane.  Similarly, people residing in Mulund(W) and commuting from Thane can now easily reach Mulund station via the new Link Road.
Shifting of Toll-Naka will widen the road
Besides, the Toll Naka is being shifted from its present location towards Thane. The primary formalities for this have already been completed.
According to reliable sources, no sooner the new Link Road from Eastern Express Highway to Neelam Nagar will be inaugurated, then the work of shifting the Toll Naka will begin. With the shifting of the Toll Naka, the first major benefit is that it will broaden the width of the Eastern Express Highway near Navghar zone. Secondly, people travelling to Mulund will not have to pay toll tax.
