Proposed Cancer hospital in Mulund (E) in a soup! T-ward declares it illegal!!

MLA Sardar Tara Singh is known for his great contribution for the welfare of Mulundkars. Hence, he is affectionately called Karya Samrat. In yet another service to mankind, Sardar Tara Singh has announced to construct a Cancer Hospital near theFire Brigade in Mulund East.
According to Sardar Tara Singh, the hospital will be exclusively dedicated to the poor and needy who are suffering from cancer. This hospital will treat cancer patients completely free of charge and will have qualified and distinguished doctors from Fortis Hospital.

Speaking to Home Times, Sardar Tara Singh said, “The hospital will be a 25-bed hospital where all cancer patients will be treated free. It is a noble work which I am doing for the welfare of society.”  Informing further about the hospital, he said, “The hospital is being built at a cost of Rs 50 lacs and will be a boon for the poor.”
Though the news has brought great excitement to Mulundkars as the hospital will surely be a boon for the underprovided sections of society, but like Sardar Tara Singh’s Samaj Kalyan Kendra, BMC T-Ward has declared the ambitious cancer hospital illegal and has served him a Show Cause notice and has stopped the hospital work.
Informing about the notice from T-Ward office, Sardar Tara Singh said, “It is true that T-Ward has served me a notice after which I have stopped the work of the hospital. But this is not the end of the hospital work. I will try my best to construct the hospital after completing all the legal formalities of the civic authority.”
On the other hand, when Home Times spoke to T-Ward Assistant Commissioner, Kishore Gandhi, regarding the upcoming cancer hospital, he said, “We have got information regarding the upcoming hospital being constructed by MLA Sardar Tara Singh in Mulund East. However, I doubt Tara Singh has taken legitimate permission from the BMC, hence T-Ward has served him a Show Cause notice and stopped the proposed hospital’s work. In this case, BMC will act after completing all legal formalities.”
It may be noted that the hospital is proposed to be built on a 8-acre land near Fire Brigade in Neelam Nagar premises in Mulund East. However, this land is under the control of the Collector and is reserved for entertainment. Hence, BMC has raised objection against the cancer hospital and stopped the work.
