FINALLY, A NEW POLICE CHOWKY AT MODELLA CHECK NAKA

Ceiling collapse in the old chowky had caused a mishap!

Home Times’ initiative to provide a new police chowky bears fruit!!

After nearly one year, the dilapidated police beat chowky at Modella Check Naka has been thoroughly renovated, thanks to Home Times which had highlighted the pitiable plight of the police personnel posted here. The new police chowky wears a swanky look, much to the delight of the cops stationed here. Now, they would be able to concentrate on providing greater security to the citizens.

Readers may recollect that a ceiling slab had collapsed sometime in December 2017 through a major calamity was averted as there were no policemen on duty at the chowky then. At that time the entire structure was in a dilapidated state and could have come down anytime, causing severe injuries, maybe even fatalities. Pitiably, the police staff had to undergo the ordeal of sitting in the open under the blazing sun and in unbearable heat.

Home Times published the plight of the cops after which the old structure was demolished and a new structure has been erected, bringing much relief to the police staff there.

It is well-known that Mulund Check Naka is Mumbai’s Entry Point and, considering Mumbai’s security, a new police chowky was erected, albeit after a year. The chowky was recently inaugurated by the local corporator in the presence of the recently appointed Mulund Police Sr. PI Ravi Sardesai and other police personnel. This beat chowky will be manned at all times by 2 two police officers and 4 policemen. With this facility, it is hoped that Mulund police will be able to discharge their duties efficiently.
