M.T. AGARWAL HOSPITAL FACES MNS IRE

Failure on the part of the administration of M.T. Agarwal Hospital in Mulund (W) to heed the demands of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), led to MNS cadres attempting to barge in the hospital and creating chaos in their signature style.

This civic-run hospital has been in the news for all the wrong reasons for quite a time now. Lack of basic facilities to the patients is the key malignancy affecting this healthcare institution. As per sources, MNS had impressed upon the administration as far as 15 days back to provide adequate facilities to its patients who were suffering owing to the lax attitude of the authorities. But, it seems, the powers-that-be in this hospital turned a deaf ear to MNS’ demands. Therefore, MNS cadres tried to force their way into the hospital premises but were thwarted in their attempt by the heavy police bandobast. IT MAY BE RECALLED THAT, recently, MNS workers had taken out a morcha from Devidayal Road to Agarwal Hospital and had demanded immediate renovation of the hospital as also the construction of a new hospital after demolishing the old structure. They had threatened that if their demands were not met soon, then they would launch an agitation it, as per reports.

MNS Mulund Unit President, Rajendra Chavan had spearheaded this morcha.
