HELMETLESS RIDERS, BEWARE!!

On the one hand, where BMC, in association with the Traffic Police, has been coming down heavily on traffic violators, including acting against illegal parking, Mulund Police has also not been found wanting in this direction. Mulund Police, too, has been nabbing helmetless riders and levying hefty fines on them. In the last three months, Mulund Police have succeeded in booking 7,500 riders for not wearing helmets whilst riding their two-wheelers.

This action has been initiated by Mulund Police to make the two-wheeler riders fall in line. The police have covered every nook and corner of Mulund which has instilled a sense of fear amongst the riders and also created awareness of the consequences of riding without a helmet. Riders can now be seen wearing a helmet and riding in Mulund. The Mulund Police have launched their campaign at LBS Marg, Modella Check Naka, Jatashankar Road, Netaji Subhash Road, P.K.Road, J.N.Road, Dumping Road, Sarvodaya Nagar, Prateeksha Nagar and other places. The police believe that this check on riders will effectively create discipline and, at the same time, bring to light instances of two-wheeler thefts. As per reports, more than 100 bikers have been booked daily. Whereas the Mumbai Traffic Police has been recovering lacs of rupees in fines for traffic violations, Mulund Police is also giving its all to ensure traffic discipline here.

Now, the travelling public’s fear of stern action by the BMC and Mulund Police will ensure traffic discipline and, hopefully, Mulund’s bikers will not take unnecessary risk of riding helmetless.
