According to the police on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, a 10-year old girl Kulsum Shaikh was kidnapped. The minor girl was playing along with other children in her area near her house in Sonapur when a stranger took her away. Since Kulsum is mentally challenged she quietly went away with the stranger without any resistance or shouting or help.

However, the children playing with Kulsum immediately informed Kulsum’s father, Abdul Shaikh. A terrified Abdul began searching for his daughter in the neighbouring areas. Abdul searched the CCTV cameras in shops in the area and, fortunately, found his daughter Kulsum walking with a stranger. Soon, Abdul lodged a police complaint. The police have registered a complaint of kidnapping after watching the CCTV and are hunting for the accused.

Afzal Choudhary, a local social activist, told Home Times, “The police must immediately apply brakes on such heinous crimes and hunt down the culprit at the earliest.” He added, “The police must give exemplary punishment to such culprits who are kidnapping innocent children so that other criminals think twice before indulging in such crimes.
