LTTE SYMPATHISERS IN MULUND??

On the one hand, the Nation paid rich tributes to the martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack bravehearts. Shamefully, on the other hand, some notorious elements in Mulund celebrated the birthday of ex-LTTE Chief, late Velupillai Prabhakaran, founder of the terror organization, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). This controversy erupted as agitated Mulundkars created chaos.  The police had to intervene to bring the tense situation under control.

According to reports, some notorious elements had put up huge banners of ex-LTTE Chief, Velupillai Prabhakaran, declaring his birthday as National Valour Day. These banners were put near Mehul Cinema in Mulund West. Velupillai Prabhakaran was allegedly the key plotter in the murder of ex-Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. Hence, patriotic sentiments of Mulundkars were aroused and they started bringing down the banners. The situation became intense. Soon, Mulund police intervened and brought the situation under control. The police also arrested the two miscreants who had put up the banners.

It may be noted that LTTE Chief Velupillai Prabhakaran had raised a military organization to wage a war against the Sri Lankan government to create an independent Tamil state in the north and east of Sri Lanka. Velupillai Prabhakaran was killed in a military encounter by Sri Lankan troops in 2009.
