Animal Vigilante Booked For Killing 3 Puppies!

These days human beings have lost humanity, thus to expect compassion for the poor animals is beyond imagination. Moreover, cases of cruelty against animals are on the rise. What is most disturbing is the negative attitude of the Mumbai police. The police do not take the offence against animals seriously hence many animal lovers, despite compassion towards the mute animals, observe the brutality silently. But, there are some valiant animal lovers who take the police administration by its horns and succeed in punishing the inhuman people who unleash cruelty on animals.

Home Times met one such gallant lady, Mayuri Gala, a resident of Yogi Hills, who faced multiple obstacles and hurdles, but ultimately succeeded in lodging a police complaint against the Secretary of her building who had mercilessly killed three tiny puppies outside her housing society.

Speaking to Home Times, Mayuri Gala said, “I am an ardent animal lover and also run an NGO called Om Foundation for their welfare.” Informing about the killing of 3 puppies she said, “Outside my building, there were 13 puppies and I used to care for them along with my Foundation members. However, our Society Secretary, Jitu Chandani, was annoyed and hated us for feeding the puppies. In anger, he would abuse the little animals by kicking them.”

Lamented Mayuri, “All hell broke loose when the Secretary killed three puppies by tying them to a tree with the assistance of a building employee. Six other puppies sustained serious injuries and three went into mental trauma. Watching this gruesome atrocity against the little puppies, I lost my temper. Fuming with rage, I decided to lodge a police complaint against Jitu Chandani.”

Mayuri approached Mulund police station along with her NGO members. “It was a gruelling experience to lodge a police complaint against Jitu Chandani. Initially, the police tried to wrap up the matter amicably, but we did not bow to the police tactics. The police made things difficult for us by creating umpteen hurdles, but I did not budge. Finally, on Monday, the police succumbed to our consistent battle and lodged an FIR against Jitu Chandani and a few others for cruelty against animals.”

Mauri said, “This is not the first instance of cruelty against mute animals. A few days back, there was an instance where some people had poisoned stray dogs. But I could not fight the case as I had no concrete evidence of poisoning.” She also exposed that in the name of missing animals, many so-called animal vigilantes secretly kill and bury them in the garden so that nobody could trace them.”

Advocate Nisha Sunanda, advocating the rights of mute animals said, “It is essential to prevent animal vigilantes because there is a law protecting the rights of stray animals. The animals may be mute but the law gives them equal right to live. Under this law, we have lodged a police complaint against Jitu Chandani.” She added, “Since long there has been an increase in animal abuse. It is high time we stand united and fight against the evil animal vigilantes.”
