Duo ram bike into police constable; arrested!
During a recent naka-bandi, an errant bike rider ruthlessly attacked the police constable on duty. According to reports, the police constable has been seriously injured and is admitted at Mulund’s Fortis Hospital.
According to reports, with the Lok Sabha elections around the corner, the police have beefed up security to maintain the code of conduct and also keep a strict vigil on the activities of the anti-social elements. Hence, the traffic police are conducting regular naka-bandis to keep a vigil on suspected people entering in the city.
On Monday, March 11, 2019, at 4 p.m. the Traffic Police had arranged a naka-bandi near Mangatram Petrol Pump on LBS Marg in Bhandup. Police constable More was on duty when he observed two suspected youths speeding on a bike. He immediately got into position and asked the youths to halt but, to evade arrest, the errant youths brutally rammed their bike into the police constable and sped away! Seriously injured, More fell to the ground and was rushed to the nearby Fortis hospital.
The culprits who had rammed the constable on Monday were finally arrested by Mulund police on Thursday. The police successfully arrested the youth by tracing them from the CCTV footage.
The accused have been identified as Sunny Sanjay Mahade (19) and Santosh Vishwanath Vakde (18), they have been remanded in police custody.
