Road With 100 Potholes Finally Repaired After 5 Years!!

Mulund: A few months back, on July 5, Home Times had published a story, “100 POTHOLES, ONE ROAD!!!” The story highlighted the pathetic condition of a single road at Mhada Colony near Navghar Police station in Mulund East that was marred by as many as 100 potholes! The road had been in such a pathetic condition for the past 5 years, but the civic administration had kept mum! Finally, after the Home Times news, all the potholes on the road have been filled with tar. The road has become smooth and the residents are delighted. Devotees brought home Ganesh Idols without any hurdle and also celebrated Ganesh Visarjan with ease.

The renovation of the road is a great achievement for Home Times because the road had been in ruins for almost 5 years!!! The residents had lost hope but Home Times took up the issue and fought valiantly. The residents are thrilled and have expressed their gratitude to Home Times for solving a grave problem of their locality

It may be noted the road was mired in controversy due to a tug-of-war between BMC and Mhada authorities over the jurisdiction of the road. However, Home Times news moved the heart of Karya Samrat Sardar Tara Singh. Stirred by the dismal plight of the residents, Sardar Tara Singh renovated the road from his funds. While Mhada residents are singing the glory of Sardar Tara Singh, the opposition parties are taking the noble work of Sardar Tara Singh as a political card before the assembly elections.

An elated resident, Avinash Dhaybar, said, “We are obliged to Home Times. Each year, we had a severe problem bringing Lord Ganesha to our homes due to umpteen potholes, but this year we faced no such problem.”

Another resident, Vijay Khamkar, complimenting Home Times, said, “The road has been in a pathetic condition for the past 5 years, but the civic body turned a deaf ear to our several complaints.  Also, Mhada did not do anything. But, ever since Home Times raised the problem in its newspaper, the issue has been solved. I am thankful to Home Times.”
