Now, get ‘ready cab’ on arrival at railway terminus!
Akin to the airport services where passengers get a ready cab on getting out from the airport, likewise, now railway passengers will avail a ‘ready cab’ instantly on getting out from long-distance railway terminuses like Dadar, LTT, Bhandup, Thane and Kalyan.
Gone are the days when railway passengers had to hunt for cabs outside a railway terminus as the Central Railway (CR) has started the App-based cab services. Now, passengers can book cabs on the App-based cab services and avail a ready cab to go to their destination!! Besides, App-based cabs, CR has announced to even start Pay-N-Park facilities within three years at the five terminuses of long-distance trains viz. Dadar, LTT, Bhandup, Thane and Kalyan. The tenders for the same have been floated.
According to a CR source, initially, the railway administration had chosen Mulund to have the facilities of App-based cabs and Pay-N-Park since it is a middle station between LTT and Thane. However, due to scarcity of space in Mulund, the CR administration has now selected as the Bhandup railway station to provide the above-mentioned facilities.
Lauding the decision by CR, a commuter said, “Better late than never, finally, CR has realized the pains the passengers have to undergo to locate a cab after getting out from a terminus. Besides, the taxi drivers loot the outstation passengers hence the idea of an App-based cab is excellent. It will ease the trouble and passengers will get an instant cab and reach their destination quickly and safely.”
Another passenger applauding the App-based cabs said, “The App-based cabs will restrict the rush of other cabbies harassing the passengers. Also, passengers will get rid of the ugly chaos created by the auto-rickshaw drivers who pester commuters to travel in their autos.”
