GARBAGE HEAP AT JAI BHAWANI MARG RAISES A STINK!!

‘Clean Mumbai, Green Mumbai’ slogans stare down at us from billboards and hoardings all over Mumbai and its suburbs. Regrettably, this does not hold good in Mulund’s T-Ward. Since the past few months, heaps of garbage have been lying strewn all over adjacent to the pipeline near Ashapura Mandir at Mulund Colony. The incessant rains have further aggravated the problem. The garbage has become wet, emanating a foul smell here, in turn, have an adverse on the residents’ health. The spread of viral diseases is a fear factor for the locals. This unhealthy sight is causing enough for BMC T-Ward to spring into action. Cleanliness of this area should be the top priority, residents feel. However, civic workers are blissfully ignorant of this situation. The hapless residents demand that the garbage should be removed on a daily basis.

Anup Chotalia, a local, informed Home Times, ” Several complaints have been made in this regard to BMC, but the garbage still remains. Both, written and online complaints to BMC T-Ward have failed to evoke any response. No one knows when this garbage problem will be reduced but BMC’s failure to act promptly may lead to a health disaster.”
